Long ago, embracing its magical roots and countless feline residents, this city became a welcoming home for all kinds of people. This atmosphere might be traced back to the very idea of the "grimalkin," an old word for "cat." Originating from "grey" and "malkin," the term "grimalkin" (or "greymalkin") evokes a history steeped in folklore. Scottish legends spoke of them as faery cats in the highlands, while in the early modern period, they became darkly associated with the devil and witchcraft, even as familiars for accused witches. Yet, in this city, the mythical, and cats in general, are celebrated as part of its magical and diverse identity.
